3 Vehicle MVC On Farmville Road
Wed. Jul 18th 2012

On July 18th, 2012, Hampden-Sydney Fire was dispatched to a report of a 3 vehicle crash on Farmville Road, just south of Meherrin Road. It was reported to involve a van, a truck and a 18-Wheeler. With the report given, and the understaffing of Company 2, Company 5, Meherrin Fire and Rescue was requested to the scene. Squad 5 arrived on scene and reported a 2 vehicle head-on collision involving a truck and an SUV, and an 18-Wheeler disabled as a result of avoiding the accident. Prince Edward Rescue, as well as Meherrin Rescue transported the injured motorists to Southside Community Hospital for further treatment. Farmville Road was shutdown for an extensive clean-up and vehicle removal. After the vehicles were removed, and debris cleared from the roadway, Farmville Road was reopened, and units from Company 5 and Company 2 cleared the scene. Thanks to Meherrin Fire and Rescue and Prince Edward Rescue for the assistance. Photos courtesy of Gene at Farmville Towing and Evan Jones, Southside Messenger.
