3 Companies Dispatched To Trinity Missions
Mon. Nov 5th 2012
On November 5th 2012, at 2:30pm, Company 1(Farmville Fire), Company 2(Hampden-Sydney Fire) and Company 7(Rice Fire) were dispatched to a report of heavy smoke showing from the laundry room of Trinity Missions, an assisted living facility. Crews from all 3 companies made their way to the scene. While en route, dispatch updated that the fire was coming from a dryer, and that the fire was out, the power had been turned off and they were beginning to ventilate the structure. Engine 1-1 arrived on scene with Command being established by Farmville 105(Lt. Farmer). After checking the dryer with a Thermal Imaging Camera, it was found that the fire originated in the dryer vent. Crews remained on scene to ensure the dryer was cooling down. When Command thought the situation was under control, he cleared all units and Command was terminated. Apparatus on scene: Engine 1-1, Tanker 1-5, Truck 2, Engine 2-2, Engine 2-1.
