Bomb Threat at Prince Edward County Courthouse

On July 30th, 2013, Farmville Communications received a call that there was a bomb in Prince Edward County Courthouse, and gave no other information. Farmville Fire(Co. 1) and Hampden-Sydney Fire were dispatched to the call for standby. The building was fully evacuated. Farmville Police Department established a perimeter around the courthouse, and evacuated all of the adjacent businesses. Prince Edward Sheriffs Office was in charge of sweeping the building for the bomb. Fire command was established by Farmville 102(Asst. Chief D. Farmer). After an in-depth search and sweep of the building, there was no bomb found, and workers were allowed to return to their workspace. Command was terminated and all units returned to service at 11:50am. Thanks to Farmville Fire, Farmville Police Department, Prince Edward Sheriffs Office, Prince Edward Rescue for the help on the call.
